USB Gentoo 2007.0 install

You’ll need the following to make a Gentoo Live USB:
  • 1GB or Larger USB Flash Pen Drive
  • Gentoo Linux ISO
  • HP USB format tool (optional)
  1. Download the HP USB format tool and format your stick with the tool using the Fat or Fat32 file system
  2. Create a new folder named GentooUSB on your computer
  3. Download the Gentoo Linux ISO and move it to the GentooUSB folder
  4. Download and "extract" the contents to the GentooUSB folder
  5. Click fixgt.bat from the folder (follow the onscreen instructions)
  6. Copy all the files from the GentooUSB folder to your USB flash pen drive (X)
  7. Click makeboot.bat from the USB stick to make the drive bootable
  8. Reboot your PC and set your system BIOS or Boot Menu to boot from the USB device, save your changes and reboot
  9. Upon reboot, you should have a successful launch of Gentoo USB Linux from your USB memory stick.
