Nautilus Using the Mouse Back/Forward Buttons

emerge xvkbd xbindkeys xev

in xterm type following command:

xev | grep ‘, button’

following output was generated by xev:

state 0x10, button 8, same_screen YES
state 0x10, button 8, same_screen YES
state 0x10, button 9, same_screen YES
state 0x10, button 9, same_screen YES

Configuring xbindkeys

vi ~/.xbindkeysrc

insert following lines

"/usr/bin/xvkbd -xsendevent -text "[Alt_L][Left]""
  m:0x0 + b:8
"/usr/bin/xvkbd -xsendevent -text "[Alt_L][Right]""
  m:0x0 + b:9

Now, Run

xbindkeys

Method Two:

emerge imwheel

vi ~/.imwheelrc

insert following lines

".*"
None, Thumb1, Alt_L|Left
None, Thumb2, Alt_L|Right

"(null)"
None, Thumb1, Alt_L|Left
None, Thumb2, Alt_L|Right

Now Run:

imwheel
